Building Foundations. Changing Futures.

We’re a Colorado local nonprofit creating lasting impact through education, safe shelter, and holistic wellbeing — starting in Cambodia.

Why are we starting with Cambodia?

“ Travel isn’t just about where we go. It’s about what we build together. For me, that started in Cambodia…” — Lachlan Quintana, Founder

My first trip to Cambodia was in 2016, on a goodwill mission to build a house for a family who lost theirs in a monsoon. What I thought would be one project turned into the beginning of something much bigger.

I returned not long after — this time not just for service, but to explore more of this country that had captured my heart. On that trip, I asked the most important question of my life and proposed to my now wife.

Two more journeys followed. On one, I went back to see the community where I had first built. On the other, I spent a full month working with a team that develops homes, improves water access, and strengthens family life through intentional building.

In October 2025, we returned to Cambodia for Outpost’s first official project. Now we’re planning Cambodia 2027: a new chapter shaped by local leadership, lasting relationships and the work that continues between journeys.

Who is Outpost?

Outpost Community Foundation is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit born from one simple truth: lasting change begins with presence.

What started with two friends, one guy from Colorado and one Cambodian has grown into a global vision — to help under-resourced communities thrive through education, safe shelter, and holistic wellbeing.

We don’t believe in quick fixes or voluntourism. We believe in intentional travel, long-term partnerships, and projects designed with local leaders so communities grow stronger long after we leave.

Our Mission

”To build lasting foundations by empowering communities through education, safe shelter, and holistic wellbeing — fostering resilience, dignity, and sustainable growth worldwide.”

Our Vision

”A world where every community has the resources, knowledge, and safe spaces to thrive — built by people who choose to show up and stay present.”

Our Pillars: Foundations That Last

At Outpost, everything we build rests on three core pillars. Each one strengthens the others, creating communities that don’t just survive — they thrive.

Education Foundations

Knowledge is the first foundation. We support literacy programs, health education, and community learning spaces that equip people with the tools to lead their own futures. A single book can open a world. A single classroom can shape a generation.

Shelter & Safety

Every community deserves safe places to gather, grow, and call home. We invest in sustainable construction projects, safe shelters, and partnerships with local builders that ensure dignity and resilience for families and neighborhoods.

Health & Wellbeing

Thriving communities need more than walls and books — they need wellness. We promote physical, mental, and community health initiatives that prioritize prevention, connection, and holistic care.

Together, these three pillars create strong foundations for thriving communities — in Cambodia and across the world.

Cambodia 2027: the next chapter

From a single library to a lifelong foundation.

Our first Outpost project brought us back to Cambodia in October 2025. Cambodia 2027 builds on those relationships, with local priorities shaping what comes next. Program scope, fundraising goals and expedition details are still being developed.

Locally led. Built to continue.

  • Local leadership: Phally Yan helps guide the work through relationships with Cambodian educators and community leaders.

  • Plans in development: Education access, English learning, school wellbeing and transport support are being explored around locally identified needs.

  • Clear commitments: Each campaign will explain its scope, use of funds and reporting before a specific fundraising offer opens.

Impact & transparency

Our first official project took place in Cambodia in October 2025. The next chapter starts with an honest account of what has happened and what is still being planned.

  • Past work: Our About page shares the first library project and the people behind it.

  • Current plans: Proposed programs are identified as plans until delivery is confirmed.

  • Public reporting: We will share verified project information and financial summaries as they are ready.

Supporters deserve clear answers about how funds are used, who leads the work and what happens next.
